Syros Waiting Period
Typical across India: Roughly 1–2 months across most cities (dealer data, August 2025–2026); New Delhi and Noida nearer a month. · Hyderabad dealers: Up to 2 months in most cities per CarDekho's August 2025 city survey; reconfirm current figures locally as the line-up has since added the HTK(EX) trim. (as of 13 Aug 2025)
Petrol-vs-diesel split and variant-level waits were not broken out separately in the cited survey; the Syros EV (separate model) has its own, more recent waiting-period data.

The Auto Grid Review
Kia Syros Review: Our Verdict
The Syros is Kia's newest arrival in our Kondapur bay, and it's the one clients ask the most questions about before booking a film — it's unfamiliar enough that owners want to know exactly what they're protecting. The low-floor tall-boy design means the lower doors and sills take more splash and grit than a typical compact SUV on Hyderabad's monsoon roads, and the big panoramic sunroof surround and 17-inch alloys both need careful masking during any correction work. Paint quality under our inspection lamps has been consistently good so far — no dealer-buff swirls yet on the small number we've handled — but it's early days for a model that only reached showrooms in 2025.
What we like
- +5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating as standard
- +Genuinely practical low-floor cabin with reclining, ventilated second-row seats
- +Diesel automatic's 20.75 kmpl ARAI figure is unusually strong for a torque-converter diesel
- +Harman Kardon sound and the Trinity display undercut rivals at the same price
What we’d change
- –Still a new, unproven model with limited long-term ownership data in India
- –Lower doors and sills pick up grit and splash on monsoon roads
- –Petrol manual's real-world mileage falls well short of its ARAI claim (Autocar tested ~11 kmpl)
- –HTK(EX) mid-trim addition shows Kia is still settling the exact line-up
Is the Syros right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
The low-floor cabin and tight turning circle make it genuinely easy around Kondapur traffic, and the turbo-petrol DCT keeps stop-go driving relaxed.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The diesel automatic's unusually good 20.75 kmpl ARAI figure and a settled ride make it a sensible ORR commuter car.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
A 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and a genuinely roomy, reclining second row make this one of the more family-friendly cars in its price band.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
It's tuned for comfort and practicality first; there isn't much here for a driver chasing a sporty feel.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Strong equipment for the money and a straightforward driving experience, though it's new enough that resale data is still thin.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Second-row recline and ventilated cushions are a genuine plus for rear-seat comfort, short of what a dedicated executive SUV offers.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Decent clearance and a durable low-floor design handle broken roads well, but it remains front-wheel drive only.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Kia Syros: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The low-floor sills and lower doors pick up grit and splash on monsoon and ORR roads before the rest of the body does; the panoramic-sunroof surround and 17-inch alloys both need careful masking during correction work.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front film with sill and lower-door protection for daily drivers; add alloy guards for anyone regularly on Hyderabad's outer roads.
Coverage
Full front as standard; add sill strips and rear-wheel-arch guards for monsoon and highway-heavy use.

FAQs
Kia Syros: Questions Buyers Ask
Kia's own trim comparison lists the Syros from ₹8,41,900 (HTE petrol) to ₹14,99,900 (HTX(O) diesel automatic) ex-showroom, as of 29 October 2026.
From what we see at the installer bay, yes for city and highway use — it has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, a genuinely practical cabin and strong diesel-automatic mileage. It's still a new model (launched February 2025), so it lacks the long ownership track record of the Sonet or Seltos.
ARAI figures range from 17.65 kmpl (diesel manual) to 20.75 kmpl (diesel torque-converter automatic); the turbo-petrol returns 17.68–18.2 kmpl depending on gearbox.
Yes — a Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof is fitted from the HTX trim upward.
They sit in a similar price band from different Kia platforms: the Syros has the newer tall-boy cabin, a reclining second row and a 5-star Bharat NCAP score, while the Sonet has a wider engine and gearbox spread and more established resale history. We'd point family-first buyers to the Syros and powertrain-picky buyers to the Sonet.
Both carry 5-star safety ratings and strong diesel options; the Syros counters the Brezza's established reputation with a more spacious, low-floor cabin and a stronger torque-converter diesel-automatic mileage figure (20.75 kmpl ARAI).
HTK+(O) diesel automatic is the value pick for its strong ARAI mileage and sunroof; step up to HTX(O) if you want the full Trinity display and Harman Kardon sound system.
Its low-floor sills and lower doors take the most grit and splash in daily use, so a full-front AG1 film with sill protection is our standard Syros package. Message Auto Grid on WhatsApp for a plan matched to your trim.
Indicatively ₹9.87 lakh–₹18.36 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹8.42 lakh–₹15.00 lakh (Delhi, 29 Oct 2026) plus Telangana life tax (14%), first-year insurance and registration. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.
The top variant is the HTX(O) (Diesel, 6-speed AT) at ₹15.00 lakh ex-showroom Delhi; the base model is the HTE (Petrol, 6-speed MT) at ₹8.42 lakh. 7 variants in all, as of 29 Oct 2026.
Syros: Compact tall-boy SUV, ₹8.42 lakh – ₹15.00 lakh ex-showroom, Petrol/Diesel, Auto Grid rating 4.1/5. Seltos: Midsize SUV, ₹11.25 lakh – ₹21.57 lakh ex-showroom, Petrol/Diesel, rated 4.4/5. See the Kia Seltos page for its full variant list and our verdict.
