ZR-V Waiting Period
Typical across India: No fixed waiting period published — Honda has sold the ZR-V in small CBU import batches that have reportedly sold out on arrival; the next allocation's timing is not announced. (as of 29 Oct 2026)
Supply-constrained rather than a conventional dealer queue, per Autocar India's coverage of the July 2026 launch batches.

The Auto Grid Review
Honda ZR-V e:HEV Review: Our Verdict
We've had only a handful of ZR-Vs through the Kondapur bay so far, but it is already the most careful film job on our books. As a CBU import at this price, owners are protective from day one and most book a full-body AG1 before the first long drive rather than after the first chip. The glossy black vertical-slat grille and the sharp LED signature up front are the most exposed panels, and the Twilight Mist Black Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl cars show every swirl under our inspection lamps, more than the lighter Platinum White. The 18-inch diamond-cut alloys are a magnet for kerb rash given how few ZR-V owners have adjusted to the car's wider track yet. It is a straightforward car to film — big, flat SUV panels — and the Bose-audio, two-motor hybrid system hasn't thrown up anything unusual for us mechanically; this one's entirely about protecting a six-figure import from day one.
What we like
- +Honda's most powerful and most efficient hybrid SUV in India at 184 PS and 22.8 kmpl
- +Fully-loaded single-variant simplicity — no trim-chasing decisions
- +Refined two-motor hybrid system with genuinely silent low-speed running
- +Distinct styling and Bose audio that stand apart from mainstream mid-size SUVs
What we’d change
- –Not independently crash-tested by Bharat NCAP, Global NCAP or any Indian agency
- –CBU import batches sell out with no fixed delivery timeline
- –5-seat-only layout against several 7-seat-capable rivals at a similar price
- –No ground clearance figure published by Honda for the India-spec car
Is the ZR-V right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
Comfortable and refined in traffic, but its size and import price make it an unusual daily commuter choice rather than a typical one.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The 315 Nm of instant electric torque and a settled chassis make it a genuinely relaxed expressway cruiser for long Hyderabad-to-coast runs.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
Eight airbags and a spacious 60:40 split boot are reassuring, but the absence of any independent crash-test score as of October 2026 is a real unknown for families.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
The hybrid's instant torque is genuinely quick off the line, though the e-CVT and SUV body favour effortless progress over outright driver engagement.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
At nearly ₹50 lakh ex-showroom this is squarely a second or third car for an established household, not a first-car proposition.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Quiet EV-mode running, a comfortable rear bench and Bose audio make it a genuinely pleasant car to be driven in, if you can live with the 5-seat-only layout.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Honda has not published a ground clearance figure and the ZR-V is front-wheel-drive only, so it is built for good roads, not Telangana's monsoon tracks.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Honda ZR-V e:HEV: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The glossy black vertical-slat grille and sharp LED front signature are the most exposed panels to stone chips; dark colours like Twilight Mist Black Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl reveal swirl marks fastest, and the 18-inch alloys are prone to kerb rash on owners still adjusting to the car's width.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body from day one — most ZR-V owners book before their first long drive given the import price, and a full wrap protects the resale value of a low-volume CBU car.
Coverage
Full body standard recommendation; alloy-rim film and a front-grille-specific cut for the vertical-slat design.

Honda's official price checker lists the ZR-V e:HEV at ₹49,99,900 ex-showroom Delhi as of 29 October 2026, up from its ₹47,99,000 introductory price at the 25 July 2026 India launch.

No. The ZR-V is sold in India as a 5-seat-only SUV, which Honda positions as a deliberate differentiator from larger, 7-seat-capable rivals like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
As of October 2026 the ZR-V has not been independently crash-tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP. It carries 8 airbags, Honda SENSING ADAS and electronic stability control as standard.
The Tucson offers a diesel engine and a 7-seat-adjacent footprint at a lower price, while the ZR-V counters with a more powerful 184 PS strong-hybrid system and a higher level of standard equipment, at a significant price premium.
Honda unveiled the ZR-V in India on 22 May 2026 alongside the City facelift, and announced its price and the start of deliveries on 25 July 2026, as a fully-imported CBU strong-hybrid SUV.
Its glossy black grille and front LED signature take the first stone chips, and dark paint shows swirls fastest, so we recommend a full-body AG1 wrap from day one given the import price. Message Auto Grid on WhatsApp for a ZR-V-specific plan.
Indicatively ₹60.31 lakh–₹62.06 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹50.00 lakh (Delhi, 29 Oct 2026) plus Telangana life tax (18%–20%), first-year insurance and registration. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.
