The Auto Grid Review
Hyundai Creta N Line Review: Our Verdict
The Creta N Line is a small share of the Cretas we see, but its owners are the ones most likely to ask for full-body film and a ceramic top coat in the same visit. Nearly every car we have filmed has been the DCT in Atlas White with the black roof or in the matte Ecotronic Grey; the matte cars arrive straight from the showroom because owners have been told, correctly, that the finish cannot be polished. Paint quality is Creta-grade, which is good. The extra exposure is in the add-ons: red bumper inserts and red sill inserts sit low in the chip zone, the black-painted grille and ORVMs swirl, and the R18 alloys with the red calipers collect brake dust that owners then scrub. The twin tailpipes discolour. Panel-wise it films exactly like a Creta, so our templates carry over.
What we like
- +160 PS turbo with a real DCT and paddle shifters
- +Every Creta King feature standard in one trim
- +Firmer suspension and sharper steering than the Creta
- +Level 2 ADAS and all-disc brakes standard
What we’d change
- –Starts well above a Creta SX Premium
- –Petrol only; no diesel
- –Red accents and matte paint need early protection
- –No Bharat NCAP result yet
Is the Creta N Line right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
The DCT is smooth in Madhapur traffic and the 360° camera is standard; the firmer ride is the only daily-use compromise.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
Adaptive cruise, blind-spot assist and the stiffer chassis make it stable at 120 km/h on the ORR, with the turbo's mid-range for overtakes.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
Same six airbags, ISOFIX and rear comfort as the Creta King with ventilated seats and a sunroof; the ride is firmer and no crash rating exists yet.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
The quickest Hyundai SUV in India: 8.9 seconds to 100 km/h, retuned steering and springs, a manual option and a twin exhaust note.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Too powerful and too expensive for most first buyers; the Creta EX or Bayon HX5 make more sense.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
The rear seat is Creta-sized with a sunshade and recline, but the red cabin and firm ride are not what a chauffeur-driven buyer orders.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Traction modes and 18-inch tyres cope with gravel, but the low red sill inserts and front-wheel drive keep it on tarmac.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Hyundai Creta N Line: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
Red bumper and sill inserts, bonnet leading edge and the black-painted grille take stones and swirls first; the black roof on dual-tone cars and the two matte colours mark at the first polish.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body is our default for the N Line, with a matte-finish film on Ecotronic Grey Matte and Titanium Black Matte; AG1 full-front plus sills, roof and ORVMs as the minimum.
Coverage
Full body preferred; minimum full front plus sill inserts, roof and mirrors.
