EV6 Waiting Period
Typical across India: Up to roughly 1 month on average, with the maximum stretching to 3 months in some cities (CarDekho dealer data, August 2025). · Hyderabad dealers: Up to 3 months as of August 2025, per the same CarDekho survey. (as of 14 Aug 2025)
A separate report noted zero EV6/EV9 dispatches in March 2026, suggesting very low volumes rather than a production backlog; confirm current availability directly with a Kia EV dealer.

The Auto Grid Review
Kia EV6 Review: Our Verdict
We see the EV6 rarely — it's a CBU import at nearly ₹66 lakh ex-showroom and Kia moves very few of them — but every one that has come through our Kondapur bay has been booked for a full-body AG1 film, no half-measures, because an owner at this price point wants the whole car protected from day one. The flush door handles and the sharply creased bonnet both need careful masking during installation, and the big 19-inch aero wheels are the one area owners ask us about separately for a ceramic coating alongside the film. Paint quality on the facelifted car has been excellent under our inspection lamps, consistent with a low-volume, carefully handled import.
What we like
- +663 km ARAI range and 18-minute 10–80% charging on a 350 kW charger
- +Genuinely quick — 325 PS, 605 Nm and a 5.3-second 0–100 kmph time
- +ADAS 2.0 with 27 features and a strong 5-star Euro NCAP legacy rating (2022, pre-facelift)
- +Fully-loaded single-trim simplicity — no variant decisions to make
What we’d change
- –Among the priciest ways to get a mid-size electric SUV in India, at nearly ₹66 lakh
- –Very low sales volumes mean thin real-world ownership data and resale history
- –No RWD or lower-priced trim any longer, unlike the pre-facelift car
- –Charging at full speed needs a 350 kW DC charger that's rare outside major highways
Is the EV6 right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
It's effortless in traffic, but its size and price are well beyond what most daily commuters need or want in Hyderabad.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The AWD setup, strong range and fast charging make it a genuinely capable long-distance EV on Telangana's highways.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
Five seats and 8 airbags are solid, but the EV6 is styled and priced as a driver's EV rather than a dedicated family car.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
325 PS, 605 Nm and genuinely sharp AWD handling make this one of the more engaging EVs sold in India.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
At nearly ₹66 lakh ex-showroom, price alone rules this out for anyone shopping for a first car, however appealing the drivetrain is.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
A quiet, quick and well-equipped cabin works well for an owner-driver executive, though rear-seat space trails a dedicated luxury sedan.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
AWD traction helps on wet roads, but it's a road-biased performance EV, not an off-roader.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Kia EV6: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The sharply creased bonnet and the flush door handles both need careful masking during installation; the 19-inch aero alloy wheels are the panel owners most often ask to protect alongside the body film.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body as the standard recommendation at this price point, with alloy-wheel ceramic coating offered alongside.
Coverage
Full body standard; alloy-wheel protection offered as an add-on.

FAQs
Kia EV6: Questions Buyers Ask
The EV6 is sold as a single, fully-loaded GT-Line AWD trim at roughly ₹65.98 lakh ex-showroom as of October 2026 (CarDekho); Kia launched the facelifted car at ₹65.90 lakh in March 2025 and pricing has stayed close to that since.
The facelifted EV6 carries an 84 kWh battery with a claimed 663 km range on the ARAI MIDC-Full cycle (581 km on the WLTP cycle).
The pre-facelift EV6 scored a 5-star Euro NCAP rating in 2022. The India-market facelifted EV6 (launched March 2025) has not been separately crash-tested by an NCAP body as of this run; it carries 8 airbags and ADAS 2.0 as standard.
An August 2025 dealer survey put the average wait at about a month, stretching up to 3 months in some cities including Hyderabad; a separate report noted very low EV6 dispatch volumes through 2026, so confirm current stock directly with a Kia EV dealer.
They share the E-GMP platform underneath, so performance and charging are close; the Ioniq 5 has a slightly more spacious, flat-floor cabin, while the EV6's GT-Line styling and AWD-only setup lean sportier. Both are low-volume CBU imports in India, so pick on styling and dealer proximity as much as the spec sheet.
If you want a genuinely quick, long-range AWD EV and can live with CBU-import pricing near ₹66 lakh, yes. Buyers more focused on value should look at locally-assembled EVs instead, since resale and parts-availability data on the EV6 remain thin given its low sales volumes.
The bonnet's sharp creases and the flush door handles are the areas we mask most carefully, and owners at this price point typically want the whole car covered, so AG1 Square full body is our standard EV6 recommendation. Message Auto Grid on WhatsApp for details.
Indicatively ₹67.68 lakh–₹68.67 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹65.98 lakh (Delhi, 29 Oct 2026) plus Telangana life tax (0% (EV exemption)), first-year insurance and registration. EVs pay no road tax or registration fee in Telangana until 31 December 2026. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.
EV6: Premium electric SUV, ₹65.98 lakh ex-showroom, Electric, Auto Grid rating 4.3/5. EV9: Flagship electric SUV, ₹1.30 crore ex-showroom, Electric, rated 4.4/5. See the Kia EV9 page for its full variant list and our verdict.
