The Auto Grid Review
Citroën AircrossX Review: Our Verdict
Flexi-Pro is the thing every AircrossX owner who's come through our bay wants to show us — the same shell genuinely switching between a proper 5-seat boot and a usable third row. That flexibility means the rear load bay sees more scuffing from folded seats and shifted cargo than a fixed-layout SUV, and the 200 mm ground clearance means the front bumper and lower sills take real stone damage on Hyderabad's outer ring road. The 5-star Bharat NCAP score on the 5-seat turbo variants is a genuine differentiator we point out — the 7-seat configuration hasn't been separately tested, which buyers should know before assuming the rating carries across every seat count.
What we like
- +5-star Bharat NCAP on 5-seat 1.2 turbo variants with 6 airbags standard
- +Genuine Flexi-Pro switch between 5- and 7-seat configurations
- +200 mm ground clearance, among the best in its class
- +Turbo-petrol now available from the base You trim after the Sep 2026 update
What we’d change
- –7-seat configuration has no separately published Bharat NCAP score
- –Thinner dealer and service network than Hyundai, Tata or Maruti
- –CNG variant specifications and pricing not yet disclosed by Citroën
- –Third row is tight for adults on long trips, as with most sub-4.3m 7-seaters
Is the AircrossX right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
The NA petrol and now-affordable turbo-MT suit city driving well, and 200 mm ground clearance shrugs off broken Madhapur roads and speed breakers alike.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The 110 PS turbo with the 6-speed AT and cruise control with speed limiter make it a composed expressway cruiser for ORR laps and weekend drives.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
6 airbags, a 5-star Bharat NCAP score on 5-seat variants, and genuine Flexi-Pro 7-seat flexibility make it one of the stronger family picks in its segment.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
110 PS and a proper torque-converter automatic are welcome, but this is a comfort-tuned SUV, not a car built for a chassis enthusiast.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
A capable, well-equipped first SUV, though resale value and service costs are still unproven against Maruti and Hyundai in the segment.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Leatherette seats and ambient lighting lift the cabin feel, but this is a compact SUV, not a car built for rear-seat executive duty.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
200 mm ground clearance and a usable third row make it a genuinely practical weekend SUV, even though it is front-wheel drive only.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Citroën AircrossX: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
200 mm ground clearance keeps the floor pan safe but the front bumper and lower sills still take stone chips on the ORR, and the rear load bay and seat-fold mechanisms pick up scuffs faster than a fixed-layout SUV because Flexi-Pro owners fold and reload the third row often.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front with lower-door and sill strips for every AircrossX, since the ground clearance invites highway use; add a boot-liner film for Flexi-Pro families who fold the third row regularly.
Coverage
Full front standard for all variants; add rear-wheel-arch guards and a boot-liner film for highway-heavy and Flexi-Pro users.

FAQs
Citroën AircrossX: Questions Buyers Ask
Citroën lists the AircrossX from ₹8.89 lakh (You petrol, 5-seat) to ₹14.52 lakh (Turbo Max AT, 7-seat) ex-showroom as of 29 October 2026, after a September 2026 update brought the turbo-petrol to the base You trim and added a Max NA variant.
The 5-seat 1.2-litre turbo-petrol AircrossX holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating — 27.05/32 for adult occupant protection and 40/49 for child occupant protection, tested as 'C3 Aircross' in 2025. The rating applies to the 5-seat 1.2 turbo variants; the 7-seat layout has not been separately published.
Yes — Flexi-Pro lets the third row fold flat into the boot floor when not needed, so the same car works as a 5-seater with a full boot or a 7-seater for occasional use, on the Turbo You, Turbo Max and Turbo Max AT 7-seat variants.
For buyers who want genuine 5/7-seat flexibility, 200 mm ground clearance and a 5-star Bharat NCAP score on the 5-seat turbo variants, yes — weigh it against Citroën's thinner dealer network before committing, especially outside major cities.
The Ertiga is a traditional MPV with a wider service network and lower running costs; the AircrossX counters with genuine SUV styling, 200 mm ground clearance and the flexibility to run as a proper 5-seater with a full boot when the third row isn't needed.
The Carens is a dedicated MPV with more usable third-row space and Kia's wider dealer network; the AircrossX is SUV-styled with real off-road-friendly ground clearance, at the cost of some third-row room given its Flexi-Pro fold-flat design.
Its 200 mm ground clearance makes it a highway-friendly SUV, which means the front bumper and lower sills see real stone damage, so a full-front AG1 film with sill strips is our standard AircrossX recommendation. Message Auto Grid on WhatsApp for a plan by trim.
