The Auto Grid Review
Toyota Glanza Review: Our Verdict
The Glanza we see in the Kondapur bay is almost always a G or V grade in Sportin Red or Cafe White, bought as a family's second car or a first automatic. It is a Baleno under the badge, and the paint behaves the same way: the clear coat is thin on the bonnet and roof, and Hyderabad sun fades the red noticeably within three summers if it lives outdoors. The low, wide front bumper and the lower grille pick up ORR gravel first, and the door edges chip in apartment parking. The 2026 relaunch adds ADAS sensors behind the windscreen and a camera in the grille, so the front bumper is now a sensor zone that needs a careful film cut rather than a wrap-and-trim job. It is an easy car to protect well because the panels are flat and the paint has few deep creases.
What we like
- +Six airbags and Level 2 ADAS on a hatchback at this price
- +Factory CNG with an automatic — rare in the segment
- +Toyota service network and 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty
- +Light, easy to park and economical in traffic
What we’d change
- –Thin clear coat fades and chips without protection
- –Three-cylinder engine is audible at idle
- –ADAS and HUD are locked to the top two grades
- –Boot and rear seat are hatchback-sized for a family of five
Is the Glanza right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
The 5-speed AMT with idle start-stop and a 4.85 m turning radius make it one of the easiest cars to thread through Madhapur traffic; the CNG AMT cuts running cost further.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
Stable enough for ORR laps and the V(O) now has adaptive cruise, but the three-cylinder engine runs out of breath past 100 km/h with four aboard.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
Six airbags, ISOFIX and ESP are standard on every grade; the rear seat suits two adults and a child, the boot a week's shopping.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
The chassis is tidy but the 83 PS engine and comfort-biased suspension are built for economy, not for the Vikarabad ghats.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Cheap to insure, cheap to service at any Toyota or Maruti-shared parts counter, and resale is strong because the Baleno twin keeps demand high.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
A hatchback rear seat is not a chauffeur-driven seat; legroom and seat height are for short hops only.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Front-wheel drive, modest ground clearance and road tyres; fine for a Nagarjuna Sagar run, not for broken monsoon tracks.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Toyota Glanza: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
Front bumper and lower grille take ORR gravel first, then the bonnet leading edge and the door edges in tight apartment parking. The thin clear coat on Sportin Red and Insta Blue fades fastest under Hyderabad sun, and dealer pre-delivery buffing leaves swirls on darker shades.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front (bumper, bonnet, fenders, mirrors) with door-edge and sill strips for daily commuters; AG1 Square full body for the V(O) in Digital Teal or Bluish Black where the paint is the reason you bought the car. On 2026 cars we cut around the grille camera and radar so ADAS stays uncompromised.
Coverage
Full front standard; add lower doors and rear bumper top for highway-heavy owners; full body for the new colours.

G AMT is the value pick: LED headlamps, 16-inch alloys, auto AC, wireless charging and keyless entry. V(O) AMT is the only grade with Level 2 ADAS and adaptive cruise.
Its clear coat is thin and the low front bumper chips early on Hyderabad highways, so an AG1 full-front package with door-edge strips is what we fit on most Glanzas; the new ADAS camera means the grille area is cut precisely rather than wrapped.
