The Auto Grid Review
Tata Curvv.ev Review: Our Verdict
The Curvv.ev is a rarer sight than the Nexon.ev at Kondapur but the owners who bring one in are usually design-led buyers who want the whole car protected. The coupé rear quarter is a single sweeping panel and the sloping tailgate glass meets a spoiler lip that every car wash dries with a gritty cloth — those are the two areas we see swirled on cars under six months old. Up front, the sealed nose panel is body-coloured and chips show; the flush handles scuff as on the Sierra. Paint depth is better than the Nexon’s, particularly on Empowered Oxide and Nitro Crimson. At around 1.9 tonnes the sills and lower doors pit, but less dramatically than on the Harrier.ev. It is the Tata EV we most often film full-body on the owner’s request rather than ours.
What we like
- +502 km certified range from a single 55 kWh pack
- +5-star BNCAP
- +Shortest waits of any Tata EV in late 2026
- +Powered tailgate, ventilated seats and ADAS on the top trim
What we’d change
- –Rear quarter and tailgate glass surround swirl easily
- –Sealed nose panel shows chips
- –Coupé roofline costs rear headroom
- –Fewer variants after the Series X reshuffle
Is the Curvv.ev right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
Silent and easy, with 186 mm clearance; the sloping rear glass makes the camera essential when reversing.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
502 km certified and a longer wheelbase than the Nexon.ev give it an easy expressway gait.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
5-star BNCAP, six airbags, ISOFIX and a 500 L boot cover the family brief; the coupé roofline makes rear headroom the one compromise.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
167 PS and 0–100 in 8.6 s is brisk, and it looks the part, but it is comfort-tuned.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
At over seventeen lakh and needing a home charger, it is an expensive and design-led first car rather than a sensible one.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Good rear comfort for two, sunroof and a purifier, but headroom is coupé-limited.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Range and V2L help, but it is front-drive with road tyres and a long rear overhang.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Tata Curvv.ev: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
Rear quarter panels and the sloping tailgate glass surround swirl first; the sealed nose panel and bonnet lip chip; flush handles scuff; sills pit from kerb weight.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body for the Curvv.ev — the rear quarter is the car’s signature and is costly to repair; AG1 full front plus rear quarter and tailgate strips as the minimum.
Coverage
Full body recommended; full front plus rear quarter and tailgate surround as the minimum.
