Q3 Waiting Period

Typical across India: No official OEM waiting period has been published. Deliveries began within a week of the 16 October 2026 launch, but Audi India's brand director said demand is expected to outstrip initial local-assembly supply through the October-December festive quarter while production ramps up over two to three months. (as of 23 Oct 2026)

Business Standard, 15 Oct 2026 (Dhillon on supply ramp-up); NDTV, 23 Oct 2026 (first customer deliveries confirmed). No variant- or colour-level wait times reported yet — confirm current timing with your dealer.

The Auto Grid Review

Audi Q3 Review: Our Verdict

4.1/ 5 · Auto Grid Editorial

We have only just started seeing the new Q3 in Kondapur, but being locally assembled for the first time at the Chakan plant already shows in a good way — panel gaps on the first cars we have inspected are tighter than on the imported Q3 Sportback we still see. Its SUV stance means the front bumper, lower grille and the silver skid plate sit higher and take stone chips head-on rather than skimming past like a sedan's bonnet, and the wheel arches and lower doors will pick up the same ORR sandblasting we see on every crossover in this city. Sage Green and Mythos Black will show swirl marks fastest under our lamps, same as every dark metallic. Autocar's road test flagged a patchy reversing camera and no ventilated seats despite the segment-first claims in Audi's own press release, so this is a car that is still being bedded in — we would wait for a second batch before judging long-term paint consistency, but the quattro drivetrain and the feature list are a genuine step up from the outgoing Q3.

What we like

  • +quattro all-wheel drive standard on both variants, unlike most rivals at this price
  • +Locally assembled — tighter panel gaps on early cars than the imported predecessor
  • +488-litre boot and a genuinely upgraded cabin with a 12.8-inch touchscreen
  • +5-star Euro NCAP rating from 2025 testing on the same global platform

What we’d change

  • –No ventilated seats despite Audi's own press material suggesting otherwise
  • –Reversing camera resolution and lane-keep assist were flagged as weak in early road tests
  • –No Bharat NCAP test yet for the India-assembled car
  • –Only one engine and gearbox choice — no diesel or petrol-manual option

Is the Q3 right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored

Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.

City Commuter

10–30 km a day through traffic

It is easy to drive with the DCT and light steering, but quattro AWD and a 204 PS engine are more than most Hyderabad commutes actually need.

Highway Cruiser

ORR laps and expressway weekends

320 Nm and standard quattro make it a stable, confident expressway companion, with comfort suspension that soaks up broken patches well.

Family First

Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips

9 airbags on the Zenith, a panoramic sunroof and a 488-litre boot cover most family needs, though the lack of a Bharat NCAP test yet is worth noting.

Driving Enthusiast

Cares how it steers, not just how it looks

Standard quattro, a quick-shifting DCT and sharp steering in Dynamic mode make this the most involving Audi in the current India line-up.

First-Car Buyer

Budget-conscious and resale-aware

Price, insurance and servicing costs put this well outside first-car territory regardless of how easy it is to drive.

Chauffeur-Driven Executive

Judged from the rear seat

The cabin tech is genuinely premium, but this is a driver-focused SUV rather than a chauffeur-first car — the A6 remains the better pick for the rear seat.

Weekend Explorer

Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads

Standard quattro AWD and an Offroad+ drive mode give it real ability beyond tarmac, making it the most capable Audi here for a ghat-road weekend.

Paint Protection

PPF for the Audi Q3: What We Install and Why

Where it takes damage

Its taller SUV stance puts the front bumper, lower grille and silver skid plate directly in the line of stone chips rather than deflecting them like a sedan's bonnet, the wheel arches and lower doors sand-blast on ORR and highway runs, and Sage Green and Mythos Black cars show dealer-wash swirl marks fastest under raking light.

Our recommendation

A full-front AG1 film with skid-plate and wheel-arch coverage is the right starting point given how exposed the lower bumper sits on this generation; since it is a newly locally-assembled car we are still assessing long-term clear-coat behaviour, so we recommend a paint inspection before filming rather than assuming the finish matches the imported Q3 Sportback.

Coverage

Full front, skid plate and wheel-arch guards as standard; add full body for Sage Green and Mythos Black cars or for owners planning to keep the car through the next few monsoons.

FAQs

Audi Q3: Questions Buyers Ask

Audi launched the third-generation Q3 on 16 October 2026 at an introductory ₹51,99,000 for the Nova variant, with the Zenith at ₹55,99,000, both ex-showroom. These are launch-window prices and may be revised once the introductory offer ends.

Both share the same 2.0 TFSI engine, 7-speed DCT and quattro AWD. Zenith adds Digital Matrix LED headlights with selectable light signatures, a head-up display, the 12-speaker SONOS system, dual-tone alloy wheels and rear side airbags (taking the total to 9 versus 7 on Nova).

The Q3 nameplate was Euro NCAP tested in 2025 and scored 5 stars on the current global platform. The India-assembled car has not yet been separately tested by Bharat NCAP, so treat the Euro NCAP result as the only available third-party rating for now.

Yes. Audi commenced local assembly of the all-new Q3 at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on 25 September 2026, ahead of its 16 October 2026 launch.

All three are entry-luxury SUVs at a similar price. The Q3's case is standard quattro all-wheel drive on both variants and a fresher cabin since it only just launched; the BMW X1 (petrol-only LWB in India) counters with more rear space, and the Mercedes-Benz GLA with a sportier driving feel. Since the Q3 is brand new, we would wait for more road tests and real ownership data before calling a clear winner.

They sit in different segments — the Q3 is a compact luxury SUV and the Kodiaq a larger 3-row SUV — but search data shows buyers comparing them anyway, likely on price overlap at the top of the Kodiaq range. The Q3 wins on cabin tech and quattro AWD standard; the Kodiaq wins on third-row practicality and boot volume.

No. The third-generation Q3 launched in India in October 2026 with a single 2.0 TFSI petrol engine only — there is no diesel, hybrid or electric option. The previous-generation Q3 sold with a diesel engine in some earlier years, which is why that search still turns up.

Its front bumper, lower grille and skid plate sit higher than a sedan's and take the brunt of stone chips, so that panel set along with the wheel arches is what we protect first on every new Q3 that comes into our bay.

Indicatively ₹62.71 lakh–₹70.05 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹51.99 lakh–₹55.99 lakh (Delhi, 5 Nov 2026) plus Telangana life tax (18%–21%), first-year insurance and registration. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.

Audi's claimed figures: 2.0L TFSI turbo-petrol quattro — 12.36 kmpl (ARAI claimed). Real-world figures depend on traffic, load and driving style.

The top variant is the Zenith (Petrol, 7-speed DCT) at ₹55.99 lakh ex-showroom Delhi; the base model is the Nova (Petrol, 7-speed DCT) at ₹51.99 lakh. 2 variants in all, as of 5 Nov 2026.

Q3: Compact luxury SUV, ₹51.99 lakh – ₹55.99 lakh ex-showroom, Petrol, Auto Grid rating 4.1/5. Q5: Mid-size luxury SUV, ₹65.55 lakh – ₹70.73 lakh ex-showroom, Petrol, rated 4.1/5. See the Audi Q5 page for its full variant list and our verdict.
