eMAX 7 Waiting Period
Typical across India: CarTrade's dealer-aggregated price/booking checker lists a current BYD eMAX 7 waiting period of 3–8 weeks, varying by city and variant. (as of 1 Nov 2026)
No dated city-by-city dealer survey (of the kind CarDekho runs for Honda) was found specifically for the eMAX 7; this is a live dealer-aggregator estimate rather than a point-in-time news report. An October 2024 CarWale report on the original two-variant launch cited an ~2-month wait, but that predates the current Comfort/Superior line-up and July 2026 price revision, so it is not cited as current.

The Auto Grid Review
BYD eMAX 7 Review: Our Verdict
The eMAX 7 is the tallest, boxiest BYD we see in Kondapur, and the flat sliding doors and large glass area make it one of the easier cars in the range to film cleanly. The low floor and the stepped-up roofline mean the lower doors and the rear bumper's corner take the brunt of scrapes in multi-storey parking, which is where most eMAX 7 owners spend their time given its MPV role. The panoramic glass roof runs almost the full cabin length, so UV fade protection at the header rail matters more here than on BYD's SUVs. Boot space is tight with all seven seats up — most owners we see fold the third row for anything beyond an overnight bag.
What we like
- +Up to 530 km of claimed range on the 7-seat 204 PS motor
- +Genuinely spacious, flat-floored cabin with captain's chairs on the 6-seat layout
- +Level 2 ADAS available on the Superior trim
- +Competitive pricing against hybrid and diesel MPV rivals
What we’d change
- –Not assessed by Euro NCAP or Bharat NCAP as of this run
- –Just 180 litres of boot space with all three rows in use
- –Only 6 airbags, fewer than BYD's SUV range
- –No single dated city-by-city waiting-period survey found, only a live dealer-aggregator estimate of 3–8 weeks
Is the eMAX 7 right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
Comfortable but large for solo commuting; it is really built for the family-shuttle role rather than a daily single-occupant drive.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The 7-seat motor's 530 km claimed range and the MPV's aerodynamic shape make it a relaxed long-distance family hauler.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
This is the reason to buy an eMAX 7 — captain's chairs, a flat floor and genuine three-row usability for family trips, even if the crash-test paperwork is still open.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
A tall, front-wheel-drive MPV built for comfort, not for anyone chasing driving engagement.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Sized and priced for a family's second or primary car rather than a first purchase — a buyer's first EV is rarely a seven-seat MPV.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Captain's chairs and individual rear AC vents on the 6-seat layout suit a chauffeured family brief, though a sedan or SUV may feel more image-appropriate for a solo executive.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
170 mm clearance and front-wheel drive keep it to tarmac and well-maintained roads, despite the generous cabin space for gear.
Paint Protection
PPF for the BYD eMAX 7: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The lower doors and the rear bumper's corner take the brunt of scrapes in multi-storey parking, where most eMAX 7 owners spend their time; the panoramic glass roof's header rail is exposed to UV fade given its near full-cabin length.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front with lower-door and bumper-corner protection as the baseline for every eMAX 7; add the glass-roof header strip for cars that are parked outdoors for long stretches.
Coverage
Full front and lower-door guards standard; add rear bumper corners and the glass-roof header for daily-outdoor-parked cars.

FAQs
BYD eMAX 7: Questions Buyers Ask
The eMAX 7 is priced from ₹27.90 lakh (Comfort) to ₹29.90 lakh (Superior) ex-showroom, in both 6- and 7-seat layouts, per Autocar India's specification page updated 12 October 2026.
As a spacious, well-equipped electric MPV, yes — the flat floor and captain's-chair option make it genuinely practical. The main gap is that it has not yet been crash-tested by Euro NCAP or Bharat NCAP, so safety-conscious buyers should weigh that against its strong range and features.
It is offered in both 6-seat (captain's chairs in row two) and 7-seat (bench in row two) layouts, across both the Comfort and Superior trims.
180 litres with all three rows in use, expanding to 580 litres with the third row folded flat.
The Innova Hycross offers strong-hybrid and diesel power with Toyota's vast India service network; the eMAX 7 counters with silent electric running, a flatter floor and captain's chairs on the 6-seat layout, but without a published crash-test rating yet.
Yes — its lower doors and rear bumper corners take the most scrapes in the multi-storey parking most eMAX 7 owners use daily, so we recommend a full-front package with lower-door protection as the baseline.
Indicatively ₹28.65 lakh–₹31.15 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹27.90 lakh–₹29.90 lakh (Delhi, 12 Oct 2026) plus Telangana life tax (0% (EV exemption)), first-year insurance and registration. EVs pay no road tax or registration fee in Telangana until 31 December 2026. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.
BYD's claimed figures: 71.8 kWh — 6-seat — 420 km (claimed); 71.8 kWh — 7-seat — 530 km (claimed). Real-world figures depend on traffic, load and driving style.
