Camry Waiting Period
Typical across India: 1–3 months Delhi; 3–4 months Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai (Sep 2026) · Hyderabad dealers: 3–4 months (CarDekho dealer survey, 14 Sep 2026) (as of 14 Sept 2026)
Jaipur quoted six to eight months; Mumbai 1.5. Low-volume CKD assembly makes allocation lumpy. Dealer-reported.

The Auto Grid Review
Toyota Camry Review: Our Verdict
The Camry is a quiet regular at Kondapur: doctors, promoters and company directors who want a chauffeur-driven hybrid without a German badge, almost always in Platinum White or Attitude Black, and usually filmed full body before the registration plates go on. Toyota assembles it in Bidadi and the paint is the best in the Toyota India range — deep, hard and consistent — but the ninth-generation car is low and long, with a wide, low hammerhead bumper that is the first thing to meet a speed breaker on the way out of a Gachibowli gated community. The long bonnet and the 18-inch machined wheels throw chips onto the front doors, and the black lower sills scuff from heels and kerbs. The Cement Grey hides swirls well; Attitude Black does not, and dealer PDI polishing leaves holograms we correct before filming. A rear-seat car this quiet deserves paint that stays showroom-flat.
What we like
- +230 PS hybrid with a claimed 25.49 km/l and near-silent running
- +Nine airbags and full Toyota Safety Sense ADAS
- +Power-reclining rear seats with sunshades — a real chauffeur-driven sedan
- +Toyota reliability and 8-year hybrid battery cover
What we’d change
- –Low front bumper scrapes on steep ramps and speed breakers
- –Single-grade line-up; no AWD
- –Three-to-four-month wait in Hyderabad
- –Boot is shallower than the car's length suggests
Is the Camry right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
The hybrid runs on electric power for much of a Hitec City crawl and the 360 camera and sensors make the 4.9-metre length manageable; ramps are the only worry.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
Radar cruise, lane assist, a supple TNGA-K ride and 230 PS make it the most relaxing long-distance Toyota under a Vellfire.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
Nine airbags, ISOFIX and a spacious rear bench suit a family of four; the boot and low roofline are the trade-offs versus an SUV.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
Sport mode and the 10-step sequential shift sharpen it, and the chassis is genuinely composed, but the e-CVT keeps it a cruiser.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
A ₹49-lakh executive sedan with a three-month waiting list is not a first car; a Glanza or Taisor is the Toyota to start with.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Power-reclining rear seats, armrest touch controls, a rear sunshade and silent EV running make it Hyderabad's default chauffeur-driven hybrid sedan.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
Low ground clearance and a long front overhang keep it on tarmac; it is a highway car, not a ghat car.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Toyota Camry: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
Low, wide hammerhead front bumper scrapes on speed breakers and ramps; long bonnet and front doors take chips thrown by the 18-inch wheels; black lower sills scuff; Attitude Black shows PDI holograms.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body — chauffeur-driven Camrys are kept for years and the deep Bidadi paint is worth preserving end to end; AG1 full-front with bumper-lip, sill and front-door coverage as the minimum for owner-driven cars.
Coverage
Full body is the standard Camry package; full front plus sills, bumper lip and front doors as the minimum.
Toyota Camry vs Fortuner
Cross-shopped against: Skoda Superb, Honda Accord (discontinued), BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
