The Auto Grid Review
Lexus LM Review: Our Verdict
The LM is the Lexus we install the fewest of, and every one that comes in is treated like a private jet cabin on wheels — because that's exactly the brief it's built to. The 4-Seater Ultra Luxury's fridge and privacy partition tell you who's riding in the back, not driving, so our focus is entirely on keeping the body panels and the rear doors' powered mechanisms untouched rather than the usual stone-chip zones. The 48-inch rear screen and 23-speaker Mark Levinson system are the most expensive single components we've ever had to mask off during a job. At this price, a scratch isn't a cosmetic issue — it's a five-figure repair conversation.
What we like
- +5-star Euro NCAP rating on the global LM — a genuine, citable result unlike most other Lexus models sold here
- +Private-jet-level rear cabin — fridge, privacy partition and a 48-inch screen on the Ultra Luxury
- +Lexus's reliability reputation over equivalent German or Japanese luxury MPVs
- +Power sliding doors and a 7-seat VIP layout for larger entourages
What we’d change
- –No official ARAI mileage figure — only a WLTP-claimed 13.68 kmpl
- –Boot space is not officially published for the 7-seat configuration
- –Exterior colour options are not published by Lexus India
- –No dated India waiting-period survey exists yet
Is the LM right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
A 5.1-metre, chauffeur-focused MPV built around the rear cabin is the wrong tool for self-driven city commuting.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The hybrid's refinement and a genuinely isolated cabin make it a smooth, quiet long-distance cruiser for whoever's in the back.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
The 7-Seater VIP layout suits a large family or entourage, with a rare 5-star Euro NCAP rating behind it, though at a price point few families will consider.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
This is not a driver's vehicle in any sense — it's built entirely around the rear cabin.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
At over ₹2.15 crore and built entirely around a chauffeured rear cabin, this is nobody's first car.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
This is precisely what the LM is built for — a private, isolated rear cabin with a fridge, a 48-inch screen and genuine four-zone comfort for the person being driven.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
A flagship luxury MPV built for a lounge-like rear cabin and shod with road-biased tyres has no business leaving tarmac.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Lexus LM: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The U-shaped LED tail-lamp bar and the powered sliding doors' tracks are the most expensive, hardest-to-replace elements on the car, while the front bumper takes the usual highway stone chips.
Our recommendation
AG1 Square full body is the only sensible choice at this price point, with careful masking around the powered sliding-door mechanisms and the rear light bar.
Coverage
Full body standard, with focused protection on the rear light bar and sliding-door edges.
Lexus LM vs Vellfire
Cross-shopped against: Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Toyota Vellfire.

FAQs
Lexus LM: Questions Buyers Ask
Lexus prices the LM from ₹2.15 crore for the 350h 7-Seater VIP to ₹2.69 crore for the 350h 4-Seater Ultra Luxury, ex-showroom (as of November 2026).
Yes — the global-spec Lexus LM 350h has been rated 5 stars by Euro NCAP, a genuinely citable result that most other Lexus models sold in India currently lack.
The 7-Seater VIP is built for larger groups, while the 4-Seater Ultra Luxury trades two seats for a fridge, a dimming privacy partition between the front and rear cabins, and an even more lounge-like rear layout.
Lexus has not published a separate ARAI-certified figure; Autocar India cites a WLTP-claimed 13.68 kmpl for the 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain.
Both are built on related Toyota platforms with sliding doors and a lounge-style rear cabin, but the LM sits well above the Vellfire on price and adds Lexus-level materials, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson system and, on the Ultra Luxury grade, a fridge and privacy partition the Vellfire doesn't offer.
Yes. Lexus India has sold the LM since October 2024, currently in 350h 7-Seater VIP and 4-Seater Ultra Luxury forms.
Given the cost of its rear light bar and powered sliding doors, we recommend a full-body AG1 Square film with careful attention to the door-edge and sliding-track areas.
Indicatively ₹2.60 crore–₹3.37 crore on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹2.15 crore–₹2.69 crore (Delhi, 2 Nov 2026) plus Telangana life tax (18%–21%), first-year insurance and registration. Dealer quotes vary with insurance add-ons and accessories.
The top variant is the 350h 4-Seater Ultra Luxury (Hybrid, e-CVT) at ₹2.69 crore ex-showroom Delhi; the base model is the 350h 7-Seater VIP (Hybrid, e-CVT) at ₹2.15 crore. 2 variants in all, as of 2 Nov 2026.
