VF 6 Waiting Period
Typical across India: VinFast's dealer network generally supplies the VF 6 from stock rather than a long queue; the brand registered 2,964 EVs in India in September 2026, making it the country's fourth-largest EV brand that month by its own count. (as of 1 Nov 2026)
From VinFast dealer YouWe's October 2026 India factsheet — re-checked 1 Nov 2026; no independent multi-city dealer waiting-period survey specific to the VF 6 has been published since.

The Auto Grid Review
VinFast VF 6 Review: Our Verdict
The VF 6 is the first Thoothukudi-built car we have seen regularly in Kondapur, and the build quality is a step up from what early CBU VinFast imports looked like in 2025. The panel gaps are even, but the flush-fitting door handles and the sharp character line below the window mark pick up swirl marks fast under a dealer's automated wash — we see that on nearly every Jet Black and Desat Silver car that comes in before its first service. The panoramic glass roof on Wind Infinity cars runs almost the full length of the cabin, so UV fading at the header rail is something we watch for on cars that sit outdoors all day. Ground clearance at 190 mm copes with Hyderabad's broken approach roads better than most compact EVs in this price band.
What we like
- +5-star Bharat NCAP rating and 7 airbags standard across the range
- +468 km ARAI range and Level 2 ADAS undercut every rival on price
- +Locally assembled in Tamil Nadu, which has shortened delivery versus the 2025 CBU-only launch
- +190 mm ground clearance handles Indian roads better than most compact EVs
What we’d change
- –Flush door handles and sharp body lines swirl easily under dealer-grade automated washing
- –VinFast's India service network is still thinner than Tata or Hyundai's
- –Resale values are untested — the brand only entered India in September 2025
- –Base Earth variant's motor feels underpowered next to the Wind's 204 PS unit
Is the VF 6 right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
A tight turning circle, 463-468 km of real range and the Earth's lower running cost make it an easy daily driver for Hyderabad's stop-go traffic.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
Stable enough on the ORR, but VinFast's charging network is thinner than Tata or Hyundai's, so route-plan your fast chargers before a long trip.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
5-star Bharat NCAP, 7 airbags and a usable 423-litre boot make it a genuinely safe, practical family EV at this price.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
The Wind's 204 PS motor is brisk off the line, but the steering and chassis are tuned for comfort, not for anyone chasing a driving thrill.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Attractively priced for a 5-star-rated EV, though a new brand with a thin service network is a bigger leap of faith than a first ICE car.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Compact dimensions mean rear legroom is adequate rather than generous; look at the VF 7 if the car will carry passengers regularly.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
190 mm ground clearance is genuinely useful on broken roads, but this is a front-wheel-drive crossover, not an off-roader.
Paint Protection
PPF for the VinFast VF 6: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The flush door handles and the sharp waistline crease below the window are the fastest-swirling panels we see on VF 6s fresh from a dealer wash; the front bumper's lower lip and the panoramic glass roof's header edge take the next hit on Hyderabad's broken ORR service roads.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front with door-handle cavity protection for every VF 6, and the full-body AG1 Square on Wind Infinity cars where the glass roof and the dual-tone leather cabin justify the extra spend.
Coverage
Full front and handle cavities standard; add the glass-roof header strip and rear-quarter panels for cars that will sit outdoors daily.

FAQs
VinFast VF 6: Questions Buyers Ask
The VF 6 is priced from ₹18.19 lakh (Earth) to ₹20.09 lakh (Wind Infinity) ex-showroom, after VinFast's second price revision took effect on 30 August 2026.
For the price, yes — a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS are rare at ₹18-20 lakh. The trade-off is a brand new to India with a thinner dealer and service network than Tata or Hyundai, so weigh that against the long 10-year battery warranty VinFast offers before committing.
VinFast generally supplies the VF 6 from dealer stock; the brand's October 2026 factsheet reports it was India's fourth-largest EV brand by September 2026 registrations, which points to availability rather than a long queue, though no independent city-by-city waiting-period survey has been published.
5 stars from Bharat NCAP, announced in January 2026 — 27.13/32 points for adult occupant protection and 44.41/49 for child occupant protection.
The VF 6 is the sportier, Level 2 ADAS-equipped choice with a 190 mm ground clearance and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating; the Windsor EV counters with a bigger cabin and MG's wider India service network. Test drive both before deciding, since they target slightly different buyers.
The Creta Electric has Hyundai's far larger India dealer and service network and a familiar nameplate; the VF 6 undercuts it on price and matches it on safety with a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, but carries more ownership uncertainty as a newer brand.
The Nexon EV has Tata's deep India service network and a longer India track record; the VF 6 offers more standard kit (Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic roof on Wind Infinity) and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating at a similar price.
Yes — its flush door handles and sharp body crease swirl quickly under automated dealer washing, so we run a full-front AG1 package with handle-cavity protection on every VF 6 that comes through our bay.
Indicatively ₹18.69 lakh–₹20.94 lakh on-road in Hyderabad: ex-showroom ₹18.19 lakh–₹20.09 lakh (Delhi, 1 Nov 2026) plus Telangana life tax (0% (EV exemption)), first-year insurance and registration.
