What Changes on a Nexon: Personas, Roofs and the .ev
The current Nexon is the September 2023 facelift, a sub-4m compact SUV (3995 mm long, 208 mm ground clearance) that Tata sells in four personas instead of conventional trims: Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless, with +, S and PS steps inside each. On top of that sit the #Dark edition (Creative+ S, Creative+ PS and Fearless+ PS in Atlas Black), the Red #Dark edition (Fearless+ PS, same black exterior with a red cabin) and, since August 2026, the limited Camo edition in Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud with a Camo badge on each front fender. The 2026 colour palette is Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Grassland Beige, Pure Grey, Ocean Blue and Royal Blue, and Creative and Fearless cars can be had with a black contrast roof.
Why does that matter for PPF? Because every one of those combinations changes the plot. A Smart or Pure Nexon on steel wheels with a single-tone body is the simplest car we do. A Fearless+ PS in Royal Blue with a black roof has three separate colour zones (body, roof and pillars, mirror caps) and the template edges must stop exactly at each colour break. A #Dark or Red #Dark car is Atlas Black from bonnet to tailgate, which means every panel is a mirror that shows swirls, and it is where we steer owners towards AG1 Square or XPEL. A Camo car has a badge on each fender that is removed, masked and refitted so the film runs under it rather than around it.
The facelift also brought a few design details that need care during plotting: the split headlamp layout with DRLs high on the bonnet line and projector units low in the bumper, the gloss-black upper grille accent that connects the DRLs on ICE cars, the full-width LED tail-lamp bar, and the rear wiper hidden under the roof-integrated spoiler. The tailgate template wraps under that spoiler lip, and the bumper film is cut around the headlamp brackets so there is no exposed edge where the air curtains sit.
The Nexon.ev (30 kWh medium range and 45 kWh, in Creative, Fearless, Empowered and Empowered+ A personas, with Dark and Red Dark on the top trim) shares the body with the ICE car but has its own front: a body-coloured upper grille panel instead of gloss black, a slatted air dam and an LED light bar across the nose that shows charge status while plugged in. The CCS2 charging inlet sits behind a flap above the rear-left wheel arch, exactly where the fuel lid is on a petrol Nexon, and the rear quarter template is cut around it so the flap opens and seals normally. EV colours include Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Empowered Oxide and, from January 2026 on the 45 kWh cars, Pure Grey and Ocean Blue with the black-roof treatment.

The Nexon is a first car for a large share of the IT-corridor buyers we meet, and first cars get sold or exchanged in three to five years when the family grows or the budget moves up a segment. The used compact-SUV market in Hyderabad is crowded with Nexons, Brezzas, Venues and Sonets, and buyers inspect paint closely because it is the easiest way to tell a cared-for car from a tired one. No. Professionally applied PPF does not void or affect the Tata Motors vehicle warranty on your Nexon, nor the battery and motor warranty on a Nexon.ev. We never cut on the car, never touch the charging inlet or any electrical component, and use computer-plotted templates in a dust-controlled bay. The film carries its own manufacturer warranty, registered in your name, separate from Tata's.
Full-front (bonnet, front bumper, both fenders, headlamp housings and mirror caps) is where most Nexon owners start, because that is where ORR and highway chips land. On the Nexon specifically, full-body is more realistic than on larger SUVs: it is a sub-4m car with fewer square metres of paint, so AG1 or Garware full-body coverage lands much closer to a full-front quote than people expect. If you keep cars for five years or more, or you park daily in open lots at HITEC City or Financial District, full-body is the better long-term decision. The Creative and Fearless personas offer a black contrast roof (and Ocean Blue can be had with a white roof). The roof, A-pillars and mirror caps are painted in the contrast colour and are plotted as their own panels, so the film edges follow the colour break rather than crossing it. We also check that the roof paint is fully cured and free of transit scuffs before film goes on, because dark roofs show every defect under Hyderabad sun. On a dual-tone Nexon the roof is usually the second most exposed panel after the bonnet, so we recommend including it even if you stop short of full-body.
The film and process are the same, but three details change. First, the charging flap sits above the rear-left wheel arch in the old fuel-lid position, so the rear quarter panel template is cut cleanly around the flap and the film never obstructs it. Second, the Nexon.ev has a body-coloured upper grille panel and a front LED bar that doubles as the charge indicator; we protect the painted panel and leave the light bar untouched.
