The 2024 facelift (launched January 2024) gave every Sonet a larger Tiger Nose grille, Star Map LED DRLs, new bumpers and connected LED tail lamps — but the three lines wear different exterior trim, and that changes how we plot and what we recommend.
Tech Line

The volume Sonets. Body-colour bumpers, a knurled silver or matte-chrome grille surround and silver roof rails. Colours run Clear White, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, Pewter Olive and Magma Red, with Glacier White Pearl from HTK+ up. Full-front AG1 or Garware is the right call here — the bonnet and bumper do the hard work, and the film is proportionate to the car.
GT Line
GTX+
The sporty trim: a knurled dark-metallic grille surround, dark-metallic skid-plate accents, glossy black roof rails, white front brake calipers and the option of a Glacier White Pearl body with an Aurora Black Pearl roof. That dual-tone roof and the dark trim pieces are where swirls show first — we recommend full-body AG1 Square or XPEL Ultimate Plus, with the roof templated separately from the body.
X-Line
Matte Graphite · Aurora Black Pearl
The flagship, with a black high-gloss grille surround, piano-black mirror caps and gloss-black skid-plate accents. In Xclusive Matte Graphite it must have a matte film — XPEL Stealth or STEK DYNOmatte — and we strongly recommend full-body, because matte paint can't be polished once scratched. In Aurora Black Pearl (gloss), AG1 Square or XPEL Ultimate Plus full-body is the fit.
Kia's current line-up also lists Matte Graphite on the HTK+ trim. If your Tech Line Sonet is matte, the X-Line rule applies — matte film only, and tell us before booking so we plan the slot and the film correctly.

For a GT Line GTX+ or an Aurora Black Pearl X-Line you plan to keep — 221µm, hydrophobic top coat included, deeper gloss on the dark pearl paints that show swirls most.
XPEL Ultimate Plus / Stealth
10-year warranty
XPEL Ultimate Plus (193µm) if you want a globally established gloss film. For the Matte Graphite X-Line, XPEL Stealth (or STEK DYNOmatte) is the only correct choice — a matte film that preserves the satin finish.
We also install STEK DYNOshield (200 ± 10µm, 10-year), 3M Scotchgard Pro (around 203µm including adhesive, 10-year) and LLumar (178–203µm, 5/10/12-year by tier) on the Sonet. Not sure which fits? PPF and Your Sonet's Resale Value
Kia sells the Sonet partly on its residual value — the company cites best-in-segment resale in its own marketing. That only holds for a car whose paint is still original. Hyderabad's used-SUV market is full of three-year-old Sonets, and the ones that fetch the stronger price on inspection are the ones with no resprayed bumper, no touch-up on the bonnet and a roof that hasn't faded under Kukatpally summers. Paint Inspection
We check the Sonet's factory paint for transit marks or dealership scuffs before any film is cut. A car collected on delivery day usually needs zero correction; a matte X-Line is inspected under raking light because matte can't be polished.
Decontamination
Iron fallout remover, clay treatment and a full panel wipe-down. On a monsoon-delivered car this stage matters most — the film must bond to clean clear coat, not road film.
Template Plotting
Computer-plotted templates cut to the facelift Sonet's exact panels — bonnet, bumper with its skid-plate face, fenders, mirror caps and, on the GTX+, the roof as its own panel. Zero freehand cutting on the car.

No. Paint protection film is a removable, non-invasive layer applied over the clear coat — nothing is drilled, painted or chemically altered. Professionally applied PPF does not affect Kia's manufacturer warranty on your Sonet. The film's own warranty is separate: we register it in your name with the film manufacturer and hand you the documentation.
Full-front (bonnet, front bumper, both fenders, headlamps and mirror caps) covers the panels that take almost all of the damage on Hyderabad roads, and it's the sensible default for a Tech Line Sonet. Yes, but only with a matte-finish film. Gloss PPF on Matte Graphite would turn the whole car glossy and ruin the finish Kia charges extra for. We install XPEL Stealth or STEK DYNOmatte on the X-Line — both keep the satin look, both self-heal, and both let you finally wash the car without worrying about the matte paint. We'd also recommend full-body on a matte X-Line, because matte paint can't be polished or spot-repaired once it's scratched.
It needs separate plotting, not a separate film. On the Glacier White Pearl + Aurora Black Pearl GTX+, the roof, pillars and body are templated as individual panels so the film edges land cleanly where the black roof meets the white body — no film bridging across the colour break. The black roof is also the panel most exposed to Hyderabad UV, which is a good argument for including it in a full-body package.
Full-front PPF on a Sonet takes 1–2 days; full-body takes 2–3 days, with matte films and dual-tone roofs at the longer end.
