HMDA formally proposed a bridge across the Musi River at the Narsingi ORR exit plus a new service road from Exit 18A to the Narsingi interchange in April 2026 (The Hindu, 15 Apr 2026), and in June 2026 the Telangana government issued a Gazette notification exempting the project's land acquisition in Manchirevula village from standard Social Impact Assessment rules to speed things up (Proppuls, 22 Jun 2026). HMDA's own stated timeline is 24 months of construction once execution actually begins — so as of our most recent research, the recurring flood risk stays live for at least the next monsoon or two.

Not to the level of the 2025 closures, as far as we can confirm. The most severe documented instance remains September 2025, when all 15 Osman Sagar gates were lifted (releasing up to 35,600 cusecs, the first time in 60 years) and the Narsingi–Manchirevula service road was shut, with over 1,200 families evacuated citywide. In 2026, Himayat Sagar's floodgates were opened for the first time that monsoon on 28–29 June, releasing a comparatively modest 1,000 cusecs as a precautionary regulation of reservoir levels — Osman Sagar itself had no fresh inflows and stayed closed at the time, and we found no independent report of a Narsingi service-road closure tied to that release. We'll keep watching for confirmation each monsoon rather than assume the risk has passed, since the permanent fix (above) still hasn't broken ground.

Yes. HMDA's own February 2026 draft notification names Narsingi (alongside Kokapet, Puppalaguda, Manikonda and Shaikpet) as one of the localities whose properties are impacted by Phase 1 of the Pipeline Road widening from Shankarpally Road at MGIT to Manikonda — the same 3.57km, six-lane project HGCL awarded to KNR Constructions in March 2026 on a nine-month build. A second, newly proposed project, Corridor 131, would build a missing link road from Bairagiguda through Narsingi to Manchirevula, and more than 30 survey numbers in Manchirevula alone fall within its land-acquisition footprint. Both mean settling construction dust and loose grit are a live, current risk for Narsingi cars, not just a general "still-building area" statement.
