The Auto Grid Review
Force Urbania DX Review: Our Verdict
The Urbania is a different kind of customer for us — fleet operators and shared-mobility companies rather than individual owners, so the conversation is about keeping the van looking presentable across years of airport runs and corporate transfers, not weekend trail damage. The flat, slab-sided panels are straightforward to film, and the front bumper's pedestrian-injury-minimising design means it's a softer, more easily marked material than a typical SUV bumper, so it benefits from protection more than most. Interior wear — the wooden-finish flooring and reclining seats — isn't something PPF touches, but the exterior holds up well under a full-body film given how many hours these vans spend parked in the sun between runs.
What we like
- +Monocoque construction with a genuinely low-NVH cabin for a van
- +Three wheelbase and seating configurations from 9 to 16 passengers
- +Triple-zone AC and reclining seats standard across the range
- +Built-in safety kit (ESP, ABS, EBD, VDC) uncommon in this vehicle class
What we’d change
- –No official overall length, width, height or ground clearance published
- –No colour options published
- –Not tested by Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP
- –Manual transmission only, no automatic option for a vehicle class often chauffeur-driven
Is the Urbania right for you? Seven driver personalities, scored
Find the row that sounds like your driving life — that is the verdict that matters for you.
City Commuter
10–30 km a day through traffic
A 9-to-16-seat van built for fleet and shared mobility, not a private daily commuter car.
Highway Cruiser
ORR laps and expressway weekends
The Mercedes-derived diesel and reclining seats suit long-distance group travel, though a manual-only gearbox is tiring on extended highway runs.
Family First
Four or five aboard, school runs to road trips
It's built for commercial shared mobility rather than private family use, though the safety kit is genuinely more comprehensive than most vans its size.
Driving Enthusiast
Cares how it steers, not just how it looks
A fleet-focused passenger van built for shared mobility has nothing to offer a driving enthusiast.
First-Car Buyer
Budget-conscious and resale-aware
Not relevant as a first car — this is a commercial and shared-mobility vehicle, not a private purchase.
Chauffeur-Driven Executive
Judged from the rear seat
Triple-zone AC, reclining seats and a quiet monocoque cabin suit corporate shuttle and airport-transfer duty well.
Weekend Explorer
Ghats, dirt tracks and monsoon roads
No off-road ability or published ground clearance — this is strictly an on-road passenger van.
Paint Protection
PPF for the Force Urbania DX: What We Install and Why
Where it takes damage
The flat, slab-sided body panels and the softer pedestrian-injury-minimising front bumper mark and scuff more easily than a typical SUV's, and these vans spend long hours parked in direct sun between corporate and airport runs.
Our recommendation
AG1 full-front and side-panel film for fleet-operated Urbania vans, since they're protecting a commercial asset across years of continuous use rather than a single owner's daily driver.
Coverage
Full front and side panels standard for fleet use; add a roof film for vans that sit in open-air parking for extended periods.

FAQs
Force Urbania DX: Questions Buyers Ask
Force Motors lists the Urbania DX from ₹29,51,433 (3350 mm wheelbase, 9/10-seat) to ₹35,02,874 (4400 mm wheelbase, 16-seat), ex-showroom, excluding insurance, registration and road tax, per forcemotors.com as of 29 October 2026.
Depending on wheelbase, from 9 or 10 passengers (3350 mm) up to 16 passengers (4400 mm), all excluding the driver, per Force's official price table.
It has not been tested by Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP, but comes with a frontal-crash-compliant monocoque body, driver and co-driver airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD and VDC as standard — a more comprehensive safety package than most vehicles in this class.
Both are monocoque premium vans aimed at shared and corporate mobility. The Urbania's Mercedes-derived diesel and triple-zone AC are strong points; a direct spec comparison depends on the specific wheelbase and seating configuration each buyer needs, so get quotes on matching variants.
The Sprinter is the premium, higher-cost benchmark with a wider global parts network; the Urbania undercuts it substantially while matching it on triple-zone AC, reclining seats and monocoque construction, making it the value pick for Indian fleet operators.
'Tempo Traveller' is a generic market term for this class of 12–17 seat passenger van, not a specific model. The Urbania DX is a specific, monocoque-construction premium entry in that category, with features like triple-zone AC and a touchscreen that budget Tempo Traveller builds typically lack.
No — every Urbania DX variant uses a manual gearbox with the FM2.6 CR ED TCIC diesel engine; Force has not published an automatic option as of October 2026.
Its flat body panels and softer front bumper mark easily under years of fleet use, so a full-front-and-sides AG1 film is our standard recommendation for operators. Message Auto Grid on WhatsApp for a fleet plan.
