Mahindra confirms Scorpio Lifestyler, Vision S SUV and BE 07 — five launches by June 2027

Mahindra's Q2 FY27 results briefing confirmed five launches by June 2027: the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, the NU_IQ-based Vision S SUV, the BE 07 electric SUV, a new LCV and an undisclosed update.

Mahindra & Mahindra has put a firm timeline on its next wave of launches: at its Q2 FY27 results media briefing this week, the company confirmed five new models will reach the Indian market by the end of June 2027, spanning a lifestyle pickup, two SUVs built on genuinely new platforms, a light commercial vehicle and an as-yet-unnamed model update.

What happened

Speaking at the briefing on 5–6 November, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO for Mahindra's Auto and Farm Sector, said: "We have five big launches that we're expecting in the first half of 2027." Mahindra named three of the five directly — the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, the production version of the Vision S concept, and the BE 07 electric SUV — while confirming only that the remaining two are a new light commercial vehicle and an update to an existing model, without disclosing which one.

The clearest commitment is on the Scorpio Lifestyler, Mahindra's lifestyle pickup based on the Global Pik Up concept first shown in Cape Town in August 2023. Mahindra's own 14 August 2026 press release — issued when the production design was unveiled in three trim themes (Valley, Reef and Trail) — states the Lifestyler will launch by April 2027 at a starting price below ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom), built on the same body-on-frame platform as the Scorpio N. It's expected to carry over the Scorpio N's 175hp 2.2-litre diesel and 203hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines, with 6-speed manual or torque-converter automatic options and four-wheel drive likely to be offered, aimed at rivals like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.

The Vision S is more significant for Mahindra's broader strategy than its segment size suggests: it will be the first production model on the company's new NU_IQ architecture, a platform designed from the outset to carry petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains in a single body — in contrast to the dedicated-EV INGLO platform underneath Mahindra's existing BE and XEV range. Test mules spotted ahead of launch show a boxy sub-4-metre SUV with flush door handles, a panoramic sunroof and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, likely to sit above the XUV 3XO in Mahindra's line-up. Mahindra has given no powertrain or pricing detail yet beyond confirming the NU_IQ platform's multi-energy design intent as part of its Vision 2027 roadmap.

The BE 07 rounds out the three named products as the second model under Mahindra's dedicated BE electric sub-brand, positioned above the BE 6. It shares the INGLO platform with the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S, and spy shots point to a triple-screen dashboard, a glass roof with ambient lighting, a dashcam and Level 2 ADAS in what's expected to be a 5-seat layout. Mahindra hasn't confirmed battery sizes, but the BE 6's existing 59kWh and 79kWh packs are the widely expected starting point; on size, it's expected to rival the Tata Harrier EV, VinFast VF7 and BYD Atto 3.

Mahindra has not disclosed the launch order of the five products, though the Scorpio Lifestyler's April 2027 date — the only one with a firm month attached — suggests it arrives first, ahead of the Vision S and BE 07, both loosely bracketed by the shared "first half of 2027" and "June 2027" framing Jejurikar used.

What it means for an Indian buyer

If you're cross-shopping a lifestyle pickup against the Toyota Hilux or Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, the Scorpio Lifestyler is now a real near-term option to wait for: Mahindra has committed to both a month (April 2027) and a sub-₹19.79 lakh starting price, which is the most concrete planning information of the five. For the Vision S and BE 07, treat "Q1 2027" and "by June 2027" as a window to watch rather than a date to plan a purchase around — neither price nor final specification has been confirmed, and Mahindra's own history (the Scorpio Lifestyler itself moved from a 2023 concept to a 2026 production unveiling before its confirmed 2027 launch) shows these timelines can shift.

The more useful signal for a buyer today is what this roadmap says about Mahindra's near-term priorities: a new platform (NU_IQ) built to offer petrol, diesel and hybrid alongside electric from day one suggests the company is hedging against uneven EV demand in the sub-4-metre SUV segment, rather than pushing every new nameplate electric-only. If you're deciding between an XUV 3XO today and waiting for whatever the Vision S turns out to be, that flexibility is worth knowing about even before pricing lands.

The Auto Grid angle

Three genuinely new platforms and body styles inside eight months — a body-on-frame pickup, a new multi-powertrain SUV architecture, and a second BE-badged EV — means Mahindra buyers in 2027 will be taking delivery of cars with paint, panel and trim combinations the market (and installers) haven't seen before. A new nameplate's first few months are exactly when protecting fresh paint matters most, before anyone has field experience with how that specific car's panels and finishes hold up to Indian roads; it's the reason Auto Grid treats any brand-new model's early owners as a priority PPF consultation rather than a standard job.

What's next

Watch for Mahindra's Q3 FY27 earnings call, typically held in late January or early February, for a firmer date and any pricing detail on the Vision S and BE 07 — and for whichever "existing model update" and light commercial vehicle Mahindra has so far declined to name. The Scorpio Lifestyler's April 2027 window is the one to track most closely in the near term, since it's the only one of the five with both a price ceiling and a specific month already on record.

Questions on this story

At its Q2 FY27 results media briefing on 5–6 November, Mahindra confirmed five launches by the end of June 2027: the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup (by April 2027), the production version of the Vision S concept SUV and the BE 07 electric SUV (both expected by Q1 2027 ahead of a June 2027 cut-off), a new light commercial vehicle, and an update to an existing model whose identity Mahindra has not disclosed. Executive Director and CEO Rajesh Jejurikar described it as "five big launches that we're expecting in the first half of 2027."

Mahindra's own 14 August 2026 press release states a starting price below ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Scorpio Lifestyler, its lifestyle pickup built on the same body-on-frame platform as the Scorpio N. That is the only price Mahindra has confirmed among the five upcoming products; the Vision S SUV and BE 07 EV have no official price yet, only media estimates.

The Vision S is the production version of a concept Mahindra showed in August 2025, and it will be the first model on the company's new NU_IQ platform — a flexible architecture built to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains in the same body, rather than an EV-only platform. It is expected to be a sub-4-metre SUV positioned above the XUV 3XO. Mahindra has not said which powertrains will launch first.

The BE 07 will be the second model under Mahindra's dedicated 'BE' electric sub-brand, sitting above the BE 6. It uses the INGLO platform that already underpins the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S, and is widely expected to carry over the BE 6's 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs, though Mahindra hasn't confirmed final specifications. On size and positioning, it's expected to compete with the Tata Harrier EV, VinFast VF7 and BYD Atto 3.
